What's on my design wall.

I finally have something I can show on my design wall. I do have more on it but they are for challenge quilts so I can't show them yet. So on my wall today is one of the 2 Placemats and both coasters I'm making for my DD & SIL for 4th of July. I have to finish them this week and mail them out to them. I'm using blue for backing and binding them in red.

It's overcast and yucky out but it's only 77 instead of 99, so I like the rain, so it's back to sewing.

Thanksgiving Table Runner

The New and The Old....

Here is my Challenge quilt for Guild in July. I used old and new fabric and I'm calling it "The New and The Old" I had alot of fun making it and I like the way it came out. I'm still working on my binding as I wish it was neater on one side, but i'm learning. I don't think I will win anything as we have alot of FiberArts ladies in our guild, but at least I tryed and I'm happy with it.

I'm still recovering from last weekend in 115 degree heat and being outside, but we had alot of fun and I spent most of it in the pool.

Today I'm making a pillowcase from a kit I got from my SP this year. it's my first one and I already sewed part of it backwards and had to rip it out, but that's me if I don't do something backwards it's not my sewing, will post a picture when I'm done.

Also I have to make the Challenge quilt for QuiltFest in September, we have to use the fabric they gave us, plus recycle fabric from an old dress and use a recycled embellishent plus it has to have a string block on it somewhere and the Recycle symbols on it, so wish me luck in figureing out how to make it.

It's my Birthday today!

Today is my Birthday, I'm 40+. So I'm going to have a Giveaway. There are going to be 4 prizes.

The First one is a 12 month BOM for a Shoe Quilt. You get the patterns and the fabrics that came with the pattern all 12 months.

The Second Prize is a 12 month BOM for a dress quilt. You get the patterns and fabrics that came with the patterns.

Well, so far it's been a quirt BDay. I did get to open all my Cards and FQ's from a BDay swap this morning. and last Friday Hubby and I went out to Dinner for my BDay, so I'll be quilting on my challenge quilt today to finish it. Here's a picture of my FQ's I got.

Busy Week........

Well, Tuesday was my DD's 21st Birthday so now she is an adult. The above picture was taken in the last year. And the top one was taken when she was little at one of her parties we had. We spend the day online playing a game called Guild Wars.

I've been working on my guild quilt , i just have to do the quilting and binding to it and add some embellishments and it will be finished.

Tomorrow we are going to an SCA event but only day tripping so we will be home tomorrow night.

Found out good news yesterday from my Kidney doctor, my GFR has gone up from 40% to$45% and my bloodwork is looking really good so I don't have to see him for 6 months.

Sad News....

My Favorite Author David Eddings passed away this week. I have all of his books but 2, will have to get the rest.

I've been working on my Challenge quilt for guild today and it's coming out well. I'm working on the embellishment part of it right now. I still have to do the quilting and binding on it. Will post a picture in July.

I have a new fun thing to do. My DD and SIL got me Guild Wars for my BDay and last night we played it til 2am. It's a computer game and we can play together even though she lives in a different town. So it's nice to get to spend some time with her doing something we both like to do.
