Here is the Log Cabin House block. Sandi wanted to know what the name of the book was with the patterns so here it is, I don't know where I got it from. it's called Calender Quilts & Stitcheries by Art to Heart # 511B By Nancy Halvorsen
Now I'm have to quilt the "What quilt" then I can post a picture of it and get it off my UFO list.

String block

This is one of my string blocks for my challenge quilt. I still have 7 more to make, then I can add them to the top and then quilt it and my other quilt for the show.

I also have to make 8 house blocks for a swap and I got all my patterns and fabric picked out and the background fabric cut so just have to sew them together.

Monday...

Well, it's a new week and I'm working on the string piecing part of the Challenge quilt. I had to look up how to make the blocks as I haven't done that before but found some online. So got the patterns all printed out and i'm cutting the strips for them. I hope to sew them later today.

Sneak peak......

This is just the middle of my quilt. The Theme is Recycling the Past. I hope this is the right idea but even if it isn't I like my idea so I'm making it.
The poor little fishy needs help and if we don't recycle there won't be any fishies left, or other animals. I still have to do the borders on it and add the recycle symbols to it. Also finish the tree, but that is going to be made with an embellishment, that's an old bow. I also have some animals to put on it.
That's all for today.

Here are my Ladybug Towel and Potholder that I made for these 2 Challenges. Very Hot Monday...

It's 105 on the back porch today. I didn't get much sewing done on the mystery quilt yesterday, was watching Harry Potter movies most of the day. I did get laundry done and changed the sheets today. I'm hoping to sew some today but my right hip and leg are hurtting and that's my sewing leg so we will see.

I'm am happy today because The Stitching Angel Swap is on again for 2009. Just click on the picture on my side bar to get to Helen's page for it and sign-up I had alot of fun doing it last year.
This year the Theme is Roses, boy I have alot of ideas going though my head for this one.

Well back to the sewing machine for awhile.
Have a Blessed Day!

Planet Patchwork Mystery Quilt.

Tomorrow is a new Mystery Quilt at Planet Patchwork. So today I've been cutting out fabric and doing everything I need to to get ready for tomorrow. I picked Blues for this quilt because if it turns out alright I'm going to give it to my SIL for a TV quilt. Now I just need to finish the cutting out the border it's the DK Blue fabric then mark the back of the white and blue ones.
I already told Hubby that tomorrow I'm not to be bothered at all and he said okay. I've got the dishes done and told him Paperplates tomorrow. Will keep you all posted on my progress tomorrow.

We had a blast yesterday, we went to the beach with our friends around 8pm because one of them had to work until then, it was really crowed and we found a place to park but lost our friends in the crowd. We ended up staying anyways and Hubby grilled some ribs while I was on the top of the truck in a chair watching the fireworks. Took most 2 hours to get home from the traffic but it was worth it. Then we stopped at our friends house to make sure the got home okay and find out what happened to them so we gave them some ribs and since they had the rest of the pinic stuff we had it in there livingroom we didn't get home til after 1am.
Today I slept in and now doing laundry and we are having beanie/winnies for dinner tonight. Tomorrow is going to be a busy day not sure how much sewing I will get done we have to go to Deland to drop off a trailer them we are going to Sarah and Tony's house so I get to see the baby finnally. Then Tuesday we have court so I won't be sewing on that day either.
Prayers to all that need them. Here is a couple of pictures from last night, I didn't think to get Hubby to take one of me on top of the truck lol.
Have a Blessed Day!
